Emergency Bankruptcy Filing

Why would someone want or need to file an Emergency Bankruptcy?
An emergency bankruptcy is filed to prevent or stop a wage garnishment, a foreclosure, a vehicle repossession, a tax levy and much more. An emergency petition is only a few pages long with little detail. After the Emergency Bankruptcy is filed, the Automatic Stay goes into effect. When the automatic stay takes effect, all collections STOP immediately. There is much more information that needs to be filed with the Bankruptcy Court within a short period of time. If the additional information is not filed within the time frame required, the Bankruptcy case will be dismissed. The filing of an Emergency Petition gives the client time to have the Automatic Stay work for them. If you are in a situation that needs to be taken care of immediately….give us a call.
